Textbook Adoptions

Spring 2021 Deadline: September 28, 2020

In an effort to help control textbook costs for students, Congress approved the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. As a result, A&M-CC has moved forward with a procedure for early textbook adoptions as a way to increase compliance with federal expectations. The intent is to encourage all the involved parties – faculty, students, administrators, bookstores, publishers, and distributors – to work together to decrease the cost of college textbooks and supplemental materials while maintaining academic freedom and high-quality course materials.

Campus Store, in close cooperation with the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, manages this course material information. In order to be compliant, all textbooks and course material selections must be visible to students at least 30 days before the start of the semester.


The deadline for textbook adoptions is two weeks prior to the release of the course schedule available for students to preview.

How to Submit Textbook Adoptions

Complete the textbook adoption form below. If you have questions about textbook adoptions, please contact Lauren Berger, Campus Store, at or 361-825-2603. 


  • All required course materials – textbooks, course packets, access codes, iClickers, school supply items, etc. – must be submitted.
  • Specify all required course materials including school supplies, course packets from any location, solution manuals, access codes, library readings, and anything else.
  • List materials for any cross-listed courses.
  • Advise us of any special timing for your course so we can have the books on time!
  • For courses without any required materials, course material information still needs to be recorded by flagging “No Books Required.”
