Student Fee Advisory Committee

Purpose or Function: The Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC) is charged with advising the administration on the type, amount and expenditure of compulsory fees under Texas Education Code Section 54.503 for student service fees; Section 54.507 for student health and medical services fee; Section 54.521 for student center facilities and Section 54.539 for recreational sports fees.

Membership:  The SFAC is comprised of nine members. Five students are selected by the Student Government Association (SGA) and four members, who are representatives of the entire institution, are recommended by the Vice President for Student Engagement and Success and appointed by the President. SFAC student members appointed by STGA serve either one- or two-year terms. Upon appointment, student government will identify those students serving one-year terms and those serving two-year terms. Any vacancies are filled in the manner in which they were originally appointed.
